Fulfilling Mrs Woellhaf’s first dream of setting up a school for the underprivileged, Mithing Pangarap Educational Foundation was opened in 1988.

 

For the past 30 years, Mithing Pangarap has offered free Montessori preschool education to the community of Smokey Mountain, the former dumpsite in Tondo, Manila. 

 

Every day, more than 200 children come through the doors, eager to explore, learn and challenge themselves in the Children’s Houses at the Gawad Kalinga building in Balut, Tondo. 

 

The foundation has also run livelihood programs for the community, a Kumon math program, and a tutorial service for out of school youth following the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education.
